A visual series mirroring my temporary stay in the constrained space of a student dorm in Graz, while attempting to find a job as a displaced person.
These self-portraits and videos emerged from the necessity to constantly stay inside my room and in front of my laptop, submitting applications and answering emails. Such voluntary self-isolation evokes feelings of loneliness, self-doubt and uncertainty. As a result, the emails find me in peculiar situations, overcoming spatial limitations, time pressure and emotional tension through bodily expression as I interact with the living spaces and objects inside them in a way that pushes the limits of their designated usage.
